The Emerald Beach Hotel

Opened in 1954, The Emerald Beach Hotel was the first fully air-conditioned hotel in Nassau. With 300 rooms and an ultramodern convention center, the hotel set the pace for tourism development along the Cable Beach strip. It was demolished in 1979 to make way for the Government-owned Cable Beach Hotel.
