This vintage map of the city of Nassau, The Bahamas, circa 1959, highlights several tourist attractions still standing (Adastra Gardens, Fort Charlotte, and the Prince George Wharf) and those lost to time (Fort Montagu Beach Hotel, the Sun And Restaurant, and the Yacht Haven). Note the previous incarnation of Paradise island as “Hog Island”—before Huntington Hartford purchased this private estate from Swedish entrepreneur Axel Wenner-Gren and developed it into “Paradise Island” in 1962.
